Description
Precisely because mental illnesses are difficult to grasp, the documentation of each individual case involves a high degree of writing: family and life stories are collected, all previous abnormalities and all symptoms are recorded, and events, tests and treatments in the clinic are meticulously documented. Forms and data entry sheets were used to standardise the information. Since 2007, patient files at the Basel clinic have been kept electronically.
