Description
The violinist and violin teacher Assia Spiro, born in Russia in 1873, lived in Rome between 1891 and 1909, where she married the musicologist Friedrich Spiro. in 1910, they hosted Alma and Gustav Mahler there. they moved to Berlin in 1915, but were forced to emigrate to Switzerland as Jews in 1939 and settled in Basel.
