Description

Daniel Quare was one of the outstanding watchmakers of a generation in which London watchmaking was a leader in Europe. He was at the forefront of the development of the repeater watch in the 1680s and was able to apply for a patent for it in 1686. In addition to clocks, Daniel Quare also built numerous barometers and mathematical instruments.
