Pocket watch with jacquemarts and quarter repeater
Description
The case with dial is made of finely chased gold. Above the dial sits a moving figure of the god Chronos, the personification of time, with two scythes. When the hour strikes, two angels appear and strike the scythes. Moving figures that strike the time on a bell are called "Jacquemarts", a compound word from "Jacques", Jacob, and "Marteau", hammer.
