Objekt 11
Pocket watch with calendar displays and alarm clock
Description
De Beaulieu came from Mer near Blois and worked as a journeyman for Leonhard I Bury (1633-1706). Competition among the city's clockmakers was fierce, forcing him to leave Basel. in 1681 he is recorded in Strasbourg, and from 1685 in Düsseldorf. This clock seems to be the only known clock from the time of his Basel stay between about 1670 and 1681.
