The *Supellex Medica* is a catalogue of the natural specimens, artefacts and illustrations that formed part of Felix Platter’s collection. It lists the contents of 60 boxes (capsae) containing objects. The first 24 boxes contain earths, minerals and stones. Among these are items that belonged to Gessner and are illustrated in the ‘Fossil Book’. Around 180 objects from this collection – including some small boxes labelled by Platter himself – are now held at the NMB.
