On the High Wall in Basel
Description
The view shows Basel families and individuals taking a Sunday stroll on the High Wall, which was later demolished between 1869 and 1875, near today's Bernoullianum. The painter chose Klingelbergstrasse next to the Holsteinerhof (near the Luginsland watchtower) with a view of St. Johannstor and the Baden Blue.
