Description

Christian Schlegel was born around 1667 in Mels (SG); after living in various places he settled in Basel in 1712. From his second marriage with the Basel burgher's daughter Anna Catharina Sixtin came his son Jeremias. After the death of his father on November 3, 1746, he had to take over the workshop despite his youthful age of 16.
