Miniature portrait of Friedrich Reinermann (1764-1835)
Description
The landscape painter Friedrich Reinermann (1764-1835) lived in Basel from 1793 to 1803. He had a close friendship with the Basel painter Marquard Fidel Domenikus Wocher (1760-1830). The latter painted this miniature portrait of his friend as a souvenir and added the following inscription to the wooden cover of the frame: "Friederich Reinerman von Wezlar. Landschafftmahler in Basel. Painted for me in memory. on May 6 anno 1802."
