Large plate
Description
This white-glazed plate is a typical example of how European faience manufactories attempted to imitate blue-glazed Chinese porcelains of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). It was not until the opening of the Meissen porcelain manufactory in 1710 that porcelain could be produced in Europe.
