Description
The Kakiemon decoration shows a peony (peony bush) and three bamboo poles. Paintings of this type are named after the Japanese potter Sakaida Kakiemon (1615-1653). The decorations introduced by him are characterized by a light application of color and asymmetrical compositions. Large parts of the picture field remain unpainted.
