Objekt 24
Johann Peter Hebel (1760-1826) and Elisabeth Baustlicher
Description
The portrait miniature, probably the model for a lithograph, shows the 54-year-old dialect poet, theologian and educator Johann Peter Hebel (1760-1826) in a lecturing conversation with the 19-year-old Elisabeth Baustlicher of Langendenzlingen. The newly built Catholic city church of St. Stefan in the background locates the depicted situation in Karlsruhe. Here Hebel had been director of the Lyceum since 1808.
