In the "studio" of the amateur painter Hieronymus Emil Bischoff

Description

The cloth merchant Hieronymus Emil Bischoff (1817-1841) is depicted painting a landscape at his easel in his parlor in the St. Alban suburb. His proper attire contrasts with the bohemian disorder surrounding him. The easel with the swan-neck motif typical of the Empire has been preserved in the museum.
