'Halbmond' in d
Description
The "half moon", named after its external appearance, was originally used for hunting, see also the corresponding decorations on the instrument made in Dresden in 1750 (No. 27, 1980.2203.).
Only during or after the Seven Years' War (1756-1763) were these instruments used for military purposes.
