Gold enamel watch with leather over case with gold piqué

Description

On the dial there is a depiction of Diana hunting in fine enamel painting, on the back of the case Diana, Akäton and Cupid. Jean-Pierre Huaud and Amy Huaud, from whom the enamel painting of this clock originates, received a call to Berlin in 1686 to the court of the Margrave of Brandenburg, Frederick III (1657-1713). Their older brother Pierre Huaud II (1647-before 1698) had already been there in 1685 and again in 1689. He was appointed court painter in Berlin in 1691. In 1700 Jean-Pierre and Amy Huaud took honorable leave in Berlin and returned to Geneva.
