Gold enamel clock
Description
This small clock features a portrait of a warrior in a helmet with a plume of feathers over a finely worked metal ground on green translucent enamel, presumably. The sides are decorated with floral motifs. Originally from Châtellerault (F), Pierre Huaud I had been a resident of Geneva since 1630 for religious reasons. He was naturalized in 1671 and is considered the founder of the Geneva school of enamel painting, whose reputation soon spread throughout Europe.
