Engraving with a portrait of Cagliostro
Description
In the inscription below the engraving by the French draftsman and engraver Christophe Guérin (1758-1831), Cagliostro is praised in the highest terms. It says that he helps the needy and that his only reward is the pleasure of being useful. In fact, Cagliostro enjoyed great prestige, especially among the lower classes, because as a supposedly noble doctor he also treated poor patients.
