Earth globe
Description
The mounting of this globe was an invention of Isaak Bruckner: to study the southern half, the globe could be rotated along the semi-meridian. Bruckner had presented this invention to the Paris Academy of Sciences in 1725, as he specifically noted on the cartouche. This globe also incorporated observations from an expedition published in 1726.
