Objekt 18
Diadem / part of a plug-in comb
Description
In combination with the simple, classic-looking dresses of the early 19th century, accessories came into their own. Necklaces, ear and hair jewelry experienced a special splendor. The artfully piled-up hairstyles fashionable at the time allowed the attachment of ornamental combs or tiaras. The enthusiasm for classical antiquity was also reflected in the design of this hair jewelry, whose reliefs show ancient figures and representations.
