Bohnenberger's electroscope
Description
Named after its inventor Johann Gottlieb Friedrich Bohnenberger (1765-1831), the bipolar electroscope is used to detect electrical voltage. An electric voltage field is built up between the two poles by supplying electricity. The fine gold leaf between the poles is attracted or repelled accordingly. The poles are each marked with + and -.
