Objekt 2
Bavarian stagecoach
Description
Yellow and black are the traditional colors of the post office. The quartered escutcheon in white and blue on the carriage cover indicates that it is a Bavarian stagecoach. Stagecoaches were usually pulled by two horses: In mountainous terrain, however, they usually drove four horses to ensure the rapid transport of passengers and mail
The coachman sits on the trestle, protected from wind and weather by a leather leg bag. On the front carriage you can see the outrider, who assists the coachman in steering the four horses.
