Barrel with carvings from the Basler Ratskeller
Description
The large oak barrel with carved crossbars and oval front bottom bears the coats of arms of the Burckhardt, Burckhardt, Falkner, Ryhiner and Merian families on the upper crossbar, i.e. the coats of arms of the five cellar lords at the time. The lower transom is decorated with ribbonwork and foliage tendrils.
