A pair of console tables with wall mirrors in Louis XVI style
Description
The two console tables with mirrors standing against the window wall are not part of the original furnishings of the Haus zum Kirschgarten. The white and gold painted trumeau panels with inset mirrors and round arched finials each show a mask entwined with ivy in the upper panel. The framing sconces of fire-gilded bronze are each decorated with a burning torch. The tabletop is made of purple-gray-beige veined marble from the quarries of Oberhasli, a village in the municipality of Niederhasli in the Dielsdorf district of the canton of Zurich.
