The instrument was played in the Blaue Haus in Basel. (Rheinsprung 16-18).
Lukas Sarasin (1730–1802) had two baroque buildings, the socalled Weisse and Blaue Haus, overlooking the Rhine, built by the architect Samuel Werenfels between 1761 and 1768. He had a music-room there.
He himself played the violin in concerts at his home as well as in the Collegium musicum.
