Teapot

Description

Teapot with celadon green background, in the reserves shore landscapes and merchant ice scenes.
No princely porcelain cabinet in Europe could be without celadon-colored China porcelains. It is only logical that the Meissen manufactory also sought a fashionable water-green background. However, this background color, developed in the first half of the 1720s, was not applied as a glaze, but - like other backgrounds - was executed with onglaze colors.
