Room 308

Gray room

This room owes its name to the wallpaper that decorates the walls. It was created around 1790 and comes from the "Grey Hall" of the "Segerhof" (Blumenrain 17), which was built by order of Christoph Burckhardt Merian (1765-1849) according to the plans of the architect Samuel Werenfels in 1788-1790. The tiled stove and the candlesticks on the wall also come from the "Segerhof". In cool colors, the wallpaper tries to create the impression of a wall covering made of marble.
