Biography

After studying art history, French and Spanish in Marburg, Montpellier and Bonn, Sabine Söll-Tauchert worked as an exhibition project manager and as an assistant in the education department of the Museum Kunstpalast Düsseldorf. Starting in 2007, she worked intensively on the remodelling of Basel Historical Museum’s permanent exhibition, “Understanding the World,” in the basement of the Barfüsserkirche. As head of the art history department, she is responsible for paintings, prints and drawings, sculpture, goldsmithing, stained glass, furniture and panelling. She has worked on several publications on the collection and has co-curated various exhibitions both temporary and permanent, including Eine Welt im Kleinen – Die grosse Kunstkammer, Scheich Ibrahims Traum, Sag mir, wie Du wohnst…, Silber & Gold and Glaubenswelten des Mittelalters.
